The Center for Congregational Excellence is offering a new tool to all churches within the Texas Annual Conference. Churches can now access reports and schematic maps containing demographic analysis of their area from an online system available through Mission Insite at missioninsite.com.

Data provided by Mission Insite contains current year updates for population, households and families in the study area, as well as age, income, ethnicity, phase of life (generational) and MOSAIC segmentation (lifestyle) information.

Instructions to register your church can be found on the website by clicking “Resources” under Mission Resources for Local Churches.
The “Agency Account Number” which is required to register your church can be obtained by contacting Debbie Sutton at 713.533.3706 or Lynn Davis at 713.533.3724. They can answer any additional questions you may have.

 Lift Us Up!...Lifted!
There if great excitement in Sabine Pass as the community watches the elevation of what will be the “multi-purpose” building of the United Methodist Church.  Due to the enormous expense of elevating any building, and limited funds available, the congregation has decided to use the “Bert Karrer Education Building” to fill all its needs.  After the foundation is completed and piers are constructed, the “Karrer” building will be lowered; and the cribbing, on which it now rests, will be removed.  It is hoped that the sanctuary building can be sold and the monies used in the restoration project.  An average of 20 members attend worship services in the building belonging to the predominantly African-American First Baptist Outreach Center; just the opposite of the situation following Hurricane Rita in 2005 when this congregation used the Methodist church for worship. Those interested in assisting with this project are asked to contact Pastor Kitty Key at 409-960-4738
