Interested in Pastoral Ministry?
Candidacy Summit is the first formal step in discerning a call to ministry as a licensed or ordained minister. The Summit is a multi-day event during which all Conference candidates entering the Exploring Phase of candidacy receive accurate information about the entire candidacy process. Candidates will begin meeting together in small groups with trained Exploring Mentors and have an opportunity to worship, share their call stories, and take required psychological tests. If you are interested in exploring a call to pastoral ministry, first contact your pastor for information and next steps!
District United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women is a supportive, inclusive Christian membership organization where women grow spiritually, develop as leaders and serve and work to create a world in which all women, children and youth thrive. United Methodist Women is celebrated as the women’s ministry of The United Methodist Church. Our members nurture one another in community and support U.S. and international projects and partners improving the lives of women, children and youth with their prayers, volunteer and advocacy efforts, and financial gifts. Local units of United Methodist Women come together periodically as a district group. To learn more about District UMW and what they are currently doing, visit their Facebook page: United Methodist Women, Southeast District, Texas Annual Conference.
Golden Triangle Emmaus Community
The walk to Emmaus is an experience of Christian spiritual renewal and formation that begins with a three-day short course in Christianity. It is an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ in a new way as God’s grace and love is revealed to you through other believers. The objective of Emmaus is to inspire, challenge, and equip the local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, communities and places of work. The Golden Triangle Emmaus Community (GTEC) is an ecumenical group of Christians joined in ministry to present the Walk to Emmaus to Southeast Texas. For more information, please visit the GTEC website or facebook page or visit the Walk to Emmaus website.
